At the moment, there seems to be a shortage of fatwood. A local retailer advised me that stocks were short due to hurricane weather where their suppliers are located. That being said, I've gotten fatwood from LL Bean, Orvis and Plow and Hearth over the years. This works as well as any, which means it works great. 2-3 pieces in the fireplace along with a little newspaper and smaller pieces of wood, it works like a charm. I finally ran out of my stockpiled 30 lb bag, so I got this box to hold me until my six week backorder arrived in late February. I've had fatwood for several years and never had any problems starting, since its a natural dried pine resin, it should last for quite some time.
