The tools are cheap quality and not at all sharp. The scraper/scooper tool started to bend when I was less than halfway through gutting our first pumpkin. By comparison, other retail scraper tools made of plastic we already had held up just fine, so it wasn't the pumpkin. The saw tools are completely dull. They required way too much pressure to cut the pumpkin or to be used for any sort of detail work.Scraping tools were rounded wire that was too dull and thin to be used for any significant areas or provide any amount of control for details. The wooden handle split with very minimal pressure on one of the tools the first time I used it.Extremely disappointing and a waste of money.UPDATE:After hand washing and drying these, they sat out on our counter for a few days until I had time to put them back in the case and put them away. In that short time they have already begun rusting along the edges.Another frustration of note: the hole cutters are completely enclosed on one end, which means that any and all pumpkin flesh that gets pushed up inside is a serious pain to clean out later.Since all of my frustrations with this set I have discovered the following tools from other hobbies are better replacements but may be more of an investment if you don't already have them. They are generally easier to find, easier to clean, and can be found in higher quality so they are more durable. As with any sharp or electric tools, use at your own risk and I wouldn't recommend any of these for children without supervision.POTTERY / CERAMICS :HOLE CUTTERS are short metal pipes, usually with an angle cut tip, with or without handles. They should be able to be removed from any handle so they can be cleared out with a pipe cleaner.FLESHING TOOL - useful for scraping the inside wall of the pumpkin clean.RIBBON/LOOP/WIRE SCULPTING TOOLS - hoops of various sizes and shapes attached to a handle, useful for detail carving on soft pumpkin flesh.PRINTMAKING:LINOLEUM CUTTERS remove shallow channels for detail work. Come in various sizes, generally a U or V shape.WOODWORKING / CARVING:KEYHOLE BLADES for fine detail cutting.WOOD GAUGE removes larger shallow layers of pumpkin flesh. Works like a U blade, but larger.WOOD CHISELS for carving shallow large areas.AWL for poking small holes or transferring patternsDREMEL ROTARY TOOL carves quickly, has various bit shapes. Takes practice.MANUAL OR ELECTRIC DRILL carving holes. Apparently can be used in combination with a kitchen mixer beater for gutting the pumpkin quickly.COOKING/BAKING:ICE CREAM SCOOP / LARGE SPOONS for gutting the pumpkin and scraping the insides cleanMELON BALLER in various sizes for carving shallow cratersCOOKIE CUTTERS in various sizes and shapes for punching out holes or marking shapes for shallow carvingPEELING /PARING KNIVES for making and cleaning larger cuts such as the lid, eye and mouth holes.HAPPY CARVING!!!I've never carved a pumpkin before. So I gave it a try this past weekend. Having the right tools makes all the difference. Everyone else in my party used regular knives. You can totally see the difference. It was fun and the tools are easy to use.I've never carved a pumpkin before so I wasn't willing to spend much money on tools. These were really nice to have, I wouldn't have been able to carve my pumpkin without them. The scoopy one for the insides broke almost immediately but if you don't mind holding the metal part without the handle, it still works. The smaller ones for more accurate and precise carving also broke apart pretty easily but I managed to squeeze them & hold them together for what I needed. If you want something cheap & don't mind holding the pieces together, these are perfect. If you want something sturdy & reliable, maybe try something else.Well, as you can see, they work very well. My wife decided to upgrade this year, and instead of just using exacto knives, get a full-fledged pumpkin carving kit. This is the one she chose, and she was very happy. The kids liked it, and the pumpkins came out great! The only problem we had, which I don't know anyway around, was the round tool I had to use a pointed chopstick to get the pumpkin out of it, then wash it. When you use it as a plug, the pumpkin gets stuck down inside of it. No biggie, because the rest of the tool kit was extremely well built, and did a great job. I'm sure this will last for many years, as long as we don't lose it in the attic. So overall I am disappointed with this product. I have been doing pumpkin carving for a decade. I usually use store bought pumpkin master tools. Usually comes with those easy generic stencils... I actually prefer those to these tools. Reason being is that these tools are too thick. They should have more of a variety of thin and smaller saws. This only comes with one thick long saw. I can’t get very intricate with that. I suppose that if you’re going to mostly just sculpt your pumpkin this would be perfect. But if you like to actually carve your pumpkin, this kit doesn’t have everything you need. Most of it I didn’t use.I don’t know if I got a different set than everyone else but two of my tools broke quickly when I was using them(no kids or rough use). The saw type knives were not sharp and not thin enough for detail. The sculpture tools were dull and the of the two that I could work with some, one broke after just doing the eyes of my pumpkin. The metal heads are not attached well into the wood at all. The only good pieces in the set are the scoop, the orange handled sharp point, and the case, the rest is junk and the cheap ones at the grocery store have lasted me longerThis package is terrific for carving pumpkins. It's nice to have the perfect tool for creating ghoulish pumpkins! The case is nice, but the items were either not sharp enough, broke easily, or too fine/too large (no mid size.) The handle on the scraper was so short, that it would get caught on the inside walls of the pumpkin when cleaning it out. I was very disappointed that most of the wooden handle tools were so dull they could not cut through the pumpkin skin without a lot of force, which made for imprecise cuts when it finally broke through. Several broke with the first use, or the blade part fell out. There was no way to adjust or tighten, making me question the safety of the items. I resorted to an exacto knife and tossed the rest.Llegó un modelo diferente.
