A fledgling ladder below the exit gives the bluebirds additional traction. There is plenty of ventilation just under the roof line and drainage holes on the bottom to keep the nest dry. It is a very well made box! An information sheet is included. Nest Box Features: Recycled plastic and stainless steel screw construction, flip-down front panel, 1½” entry with copper portal to keep out larger birds, grooved fledgling ladder below exit, and excellent drainage and ventilation. Pole Kit Features: Heavy-duty black powder-coated steel construction, strong 3 piece 1" diameter tubular pole, Twister Ground Socket twists 20" into the ground for extra stability, 68" Overall Height. Screws included. Squirrel baffle is constructed of galvanized steel and powder-coated black, measures 16-3/4" long and 6-1/4" in diameter. Place your pole 8-10' away from railings, roofs or trees. Squirrel baffles should be mounted a minimum of 4' from the top of baffle to the ground. **Per EPA regulations, this product qualifies as a "pesticide device," which does not require registration with the EPA. Our squirrel baffles and/or predator guards have not been scientifically tested for efficacy. We make no claims regarding the effectiveness of our squirrel- and predator-mitigating contrivances.
