Our granddaughter was thrilled when she opened this set! It was by far her favorite gift this year. She is an avid reader and wasn’t expecting the entire set. The case the books came in was fun as well.The books all came in good condition and are all accounted for. I'm happy with the quality, feels just like when I was a kid!After reading my first McCall Smith series, I tackled all 13 of these books. They are totally different but have a great sense of humor. For that reason alone, I love the books but I also love the suspense (yes, it is suspenseful!!). I don't care if this is billed as a children's book. All the good readers I know are adults and have read at least some of these books. They are funny, suspenseful, and highly readable. Thanks!Love these books and would highly recommend them to all ages. Beautiful presentation.Our son and I read these books as they were first published one by one. I loved the way vocabulary words were insidiously introduced and we also liked the illustrations. Now that Netflix has now offered a wonderful, quality series based on the books. my son and I are enjoying revisiting the books and look forward to sharing with the grandchildren. Heirloom worthy!
