One of the many reasons we bought this litter box was because the cat was shoveling cat litter out of the box. With this box, the door can open to have the cat go in, but they have to hop out of the 'sun roof' to get out! Their paws hold little crumbles of litter as well, but the top is like a grate, and the bits fall off paws back into the cat box. Super smart idea! He does get a few crumbs of litter out sometimes, but before it was handfuls!It also had to fit in the bathroom, and it did. You should look to see that you have room to pull the tray all the way out where ever you are putting it.The tray for the litter pulls out so you can clean it without taking the sides/top off the box, and it moves easily which is very nice as well.The cat did take the tabs off that are inside the box on the sides, but that's OK, I don't think they were super necessary for the box to stay together.You do hear the door sometimes after the cat goes in the box, but you get used to the sound pretty quick, and it isn't loud.The cat has never moved the tray, which is good.For reference, we got the box while the cat was still growing, I think he was around 6 or 7 lbs at the time. He's now 10 lbs, and fits fine, thru the door and up thru the 'sun roof'.Also, the roof exit is large enough you can stick your hand and arm in to wipe down the walls to help clean/sanitize the box without taking it apart.Very glad to have this litter box, it looks nice, works well, and should last a long time.
