The description should note that the swing door only swings one direction as the steps and the box body are always in the way. So, your cat will need to enter from top and exit door or enter door and exit top, depending on how you hang the door on the hinge pins; if they just dont use top only. A bit confusing and a design flaw someone should have adjusted; otherwise just remove door all together.Overall, does its job; floor mat provided isn’t very useful or helpful but the scooper works fine! The stairs for the entry are an interesting touch, depending on your cat. The lock feature works and is convenient, and the box is sturdy. The main complaint is the height of the tray, the sides could be higher so the litter remains in the box (cat scrapes and flings it out). Nevertheless it serves a purpose.I have 6 cats which requires a lot of litter boxes. With a small house, I have several "benches" that contain hidden litter boxes. One of my cats is a sprayer and his urine would go up and over the side of the litter box, wetting the bottom of the bench. This litter box is high enough to fit inside the bench and has contained the sprays. Mission accomplished! I'm buying another one for the second bench. Thrilled with the item and its fast delivery. But the scent blocker only lasted a couple of weeks before it stoped doing its job, and the claps don’t really lock down, but they do the job of holding it together, it’s very sturdy so I really can’t complain! I don’t know if our cats will use it, and our bigger cats definitely won’t fit inside. The grouping of litter pans on Amazon for this seller is confusing.Bought this for my older cats who had to step up to get in old litter pan. I use litter liners so the low entrance edge doesn't work well with liners. I'm not sure of the purpose of the "pedal" but it does help keep the liner down lower and prevents a pocket forming that catches urine. The pedal does get dirty quickly and is a maintenance issue.There is a little assembly with attaching the locking clips in place. A little force is needed but is not difficult. I've needed to reattach it twice when I have unlocked to change litter. I suspect it will get looser as it is used.
