Being a lover of old school and classic music I looked at the box sets by Marvin Gaye,The Temptations,Stevie Wonder, & Smokey Robinson.But then I saw "THE QUEEN", and the decision was made for me.When I looked in my mailbox on Christmas and saw that it had arrived I was ecstatic.As for the music, what more can be said except that this is,"THE QUEEN",and we should all bow down & be grateful that she has deemed us worthy of experiencing the consistent excellence that is worthy of the aforementioned title.She has taken the influences of Billie,Bessie,Sarah,Ella,Nat,Sam,& Otis and made them into a style that cannot be duplicated.It would take another review to list all of the singers that she has influenced, but we already know most of those names so we dont need to repeat them.One thing to notice I have NEVER seen a Box set or CD that has generated nothing but 5 star reviews.There are not enough words to praise this box set.At twice the price it still would be a steal.GET IT!!! PLAY IT!!!!
